The rules in one minute
- Booking is free. You approve the quote before any work starts and you pay after the job is done, online.
- A quote you decline is final. If you change your mind, simply report the job again.
- Every 5th repair: labour is free, materials are still paid. No cash value, not transferable.
- Reviews are real: one per completed, paid job, first name only.
- If our workmanship fails within 30 days, we come back and fix it free.
- Be decent to our service professionals, and they'll be decent to you. It's a two-way street.
1 What FixAmNow is
FixAmNow ("we", "us", "our") is a home-repair service operated by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME: update after CAC registration]. We connect households with service professionals: vetted repair experts who come to your home.
- Artisans (plumbers, electricians, painters and decorators) take care of the home itself.
- Technicians (phone, appliance and generator specialists) take care of the machines in it.
Every repair is run under our rules: verification of the professional, supervisor oversight, your approval of the quote before work begins, and payment after completion. A supervisor oversees jobs to keep quality consistent. These terms form the agreement between you and us for the use of the service.
2 Your account
You need an account to book repairs, approve quotes and pay online. You sign up with your full name, phone number, email address and a password. Your email is required: it is how password recovery works, and reset links are one-time links that expire. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for what happens through your account. If you suspect someone else is using it, tell us immediately.
You must be 18 or older to hold an account, since using FixAmNow means letting a service professional into your home and paying for services.
3 How a repair runs
| Step | What happens | The rule |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Report | You describe the fault (text, photos, voice note or video) and give the service address. | Free, and as honest as you can make it. |
| 2. Assignment | We assign a verified service professional, with a supervisor overseeing. | Their identity is checked before they ever visit. |
| 3. The visit | The professional inspects the fault on site. | Nothing is repaired yet. |
| 4. The quote | You receive an itemised quote: workmanship and parts, listed separately. | You approve it in your account before any work starts. |
| 5. The repair | The work is done in your home, cleanly. | Only what you approved. |
| 6. Payment | You pay online by card once the repair is completed. | Never before. |
4 Quotes and pricing
Nothing starts without your approval. A quote lists the workmanship (what will be done) and each part required, priced separately. Once you approve it, that is the price you pay for the scope described.
If the job turns out bigger than quoted (for example, opening a phone reveals additional board damage), the professional stops, we revise the quote, and nothing further happens until you approve the new one. You are never billed for work you did not approve.
A declined quote is final. If you decline, that job ends there. If you change your mind later, simply report the job again and we will start fresh. Declining costs you nothing, and it never affects your loyalty punches or your account.
Quotes are valid for a reasonable period from when they are issued; if you sit on a quote for a long time, part prices may have moved and we will re-quote rather than quietly charge you more.
5 Payments
All payments run through Paystack, our payment provider, using your card. We never see or store your card number. You pay only after the repair is completed, and you receive a receipt for every payment. If a payment fails, nothing is marked as paid; the job simply remains payable. If you are ever charged in error, contact us and we will sort it out with Paystack on your behalf.
6 The loyalty programme: every 5th repair
Each repair of yours that is completed and paid earns one punch on your loyalty card. At five punches, your next repair is on us, partly:
| What "free" covers | What you still pay |
|---|---|
| The labour (the workmanship line of your quote) | All materials and parts needed for the repair |
The free repair is chosen by us together with you when your card is full, and the job is marked as a loyalty repair before the quote is built, so the quote you approve simply has no workmanship line. When you pay that materials-only bill, your punch card resets to zero and a new cycle begins.
- Punches are earned only on completed and paid repairs: declined, cancelled or unpaid jobs never punch the card.
- Free repairs have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are not transferable to another person or account.
- We may adjust or retire the programme for the future, but never retroactively; punches you have already earned stay yours.
7 Workmanship warranty
If the workmanship of a completed repair fails within 30 days of the date you paid, we will return and put it right at no charge to you. This is our promise, and it is one of the reasons we supervise every job.
The warranty covers how the work was done, for example a joint we soldered leaking again or a screen we fitted coming loose. It does not cover: new damage to the device or home (drops, power surges, floods, storms); faults arising from parts you supplied yourself; normal wear and tear; or a different fault appearing in the same device later. Parts themselves carry the supplier's or manufacturer's warranty where one exists: if a fitted part fails under that warranty, we will handle the replacement process for you.
To claim, contact us with the job details; the photos and records we keep with every job make this straightforward.
8 Reviews
Reviews are what make FixAmNow trustworthy, so they are guarded. A review can only be written by the customer of a job that was completed and paid, and only one review per job, permanently. Reviews appear under your first name only; your phone number and full name are never shown. A professional's public rating is the average of their verified reviews and cannot be set by hand, not even by us.
Keep reviews honest and about the actual repair experience. We may remove a review that contains abuse, personal information or content unrelated to the job.
9 Cancellations and rescheduling
Before a repair starts, you can cancel or reschedule at any time from your account or by contacting us, at no cost. Once work has begun on an approved quote, cancelling means paying for the work and parts already reasonably carried out. If we cancel on our side (a professional falls ill, a part cannot be sourced), you pay nothing and we will re-book you as a priority.
10 In your home
Our service professionals are vetted, and they follow house rules: show up when scheduled, identify themselves, work cleanly, and clean up after. In turn, we ask you to make the job possible: an adult present at the agreed time, safe access to the fault (move what needs moving), and the device available with its charger or accessories if relevant. Please keep valuables you don't need for the job out of the working area; it protects everyone.
11 Conduct in both directions
Be decent to our people and they will be decent to you. Abuse, harassment, threats or discrimination against a service professional will end your account. The same standard applies to them: a professional who misbehaves in a customer's home does not work with us again. Report any problem to us and we will handle it; that is what the supervision is for.
12 Limits of liability
We work hard to get every repair right, supervise every job, and honour the warranty above. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total liability for any claim connected to a repair is limited to the amount you actually paid for that repair. We are not liable for indirect losses, for example data lost from a phone we repaired (please back up before any repair), food spoiled while a fridge waited, or business losses caused by a device being down. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13 Changes to these terms
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and notify you by SMS or email where the change affects you materially. The version published on this page is always the one that applies.
14 Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, contact us first: most problems are solved with a conversation, and we would rather fix your repair than fight about it. Any dispute that we cannot settle amicably will be resolved in the courts of Nigeria.
